Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, university students participated in a specialized workshop titled “Freelancing,” organized by the Academic Research Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The workshop aimed to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and freelancing culture among university students, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to confidently and innovatively enter the modern job market.
A number of male and female students attended the event, accompanied by faculty members, reflecting the university's commitment to supporting scientific and cultural activities that contribute to the development of university students' personalities and skills.
The students took a comprehensive introductory tour of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, during which they reviewed the history of the ancient library and its revival stages, as well as explored its diverse collections of scientific and digital resources. The tour also included visits to several sections housing rare artifacts and exhibits, providing students with a unique opportunity to delve into aspects of Egyptian and global history, culture, and civilization.
Prof. Tamer Samir praised the status of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as a scientific and cultural beacon not only in Egypt but globally, emphasizing that it represents a knowledge edifice that connects the past with the present and plays a significant role in spreading culture and enhancing scientific research. He noted that such visits are crucial in academically and practically supporting students while broadening their horizons through direct interaction with leading scientific and cultural institutions like the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakal pointed out that the event marks the beginning of fruitful cooperation between Benha National University and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, indicating that both parties are discussing a joint protocol that includes training opportunities for university students in innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as organizing specialized workshops and training courses to enhance students' professional skills and prepare them for the job market.
