As part of its commitment to developing the capabilities of its students and enhancing their participation in institutional decision-making, Benha National University has launched a series of specialized workshops and meetings on strategic planning. The aim is to equip students with the necessary skills to analyze the internal and external environment of the institution and to formulate future visions that contribute to the university's progress.
These workshops were held under the auspices of:
- Tamer Samir, President of the University,
- Hussein El-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs
- General Supervisor of the Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030.
The workshops were presented to students by Prof. Fatma Abdel Wahab, supervisor of the Strategic Planning Office at the university, amidst wide student participation and noticeable interaction reflecting their interest in institutional development.
Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized that organizing these workshops is part of the university's direction to instill a culture of strategic planning among its students, pointing to the importance of their participation in shaping the future of the university and enabling them to understand institutional goals and contribute to their development. He noted that this is a fundamental pillar in preparing a leadership generation aware of contemporary challenges and requirements.
Prof. Hussein El-Maghrabi clarified that the university places great importance on preparing a strategic plan that involves all relevant parties internally and externally, including the university's students. Approximately 500 students from various programs participated in attending the series of workshops and meetings to conduct environmental analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, available opportunities, and potential challenges.
Prof. Fatma Abdel Wahab praised the students' interaction and their effective response to the workshop content, explaining that the workshops focused on the principles and tools of strategic planning, as well as methods for analyzing the internal and external environment. She added that students expressed significant interest and a desire to participate and influence, reflecting an advanced awareness of their role in developing the university education system.
The workshops were implemented according to a schedule that considers the arrangement of colleges based on the chronological order of the workshops, as follows:
- Starting with students from the Colleges of Economics and Business Administration and Visual Arts on April 16, 2025.
- Followed by students from the Colleges of Physical Therapy and Veterinary Medicine on May 5, 2025.
- Then the Colleges of Medicine, Engineering, and Computer Science on May 8, 2025.
These workshops are one of the qualitative activities adopted by the university to enhance student participation in shaping university policies and building an interactive educational environment that supports values of leadership and social responsibility.
