Benha National University Organized the First Scientific Conference of the College of Medicine with Wide Participation from Professors and Experts

Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National  University, and the supervision of Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, the College of Medicine organized its first scientific conference titled "The Crossroads of Medical Care: Between Practice, Ethics, and Medical Laws," held at the university's campus in El Obour City, with notable attendance from College members and university leadership, as well as a group of professors and experts from inside and outside Egypt.

The conference was attended by Prof. Karim El Dash, Vice President of the University for International Relations, along with program directors and the Secretary-General of the university, and the Assistant Secretary of the university.

The conference witnessed the presence of a distinguished group of leaders from medical Colleges, including Prof. Hosni Abdel Rahman and Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Sabour, former Deans of the College of Medicine at Benha National  University, Prof. Amr El Dakhakhni, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals, Prof. Rasha Shaker, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine at Benha University, Prof. Mohsen Nasir, former Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Prof. Yousri El Said, Professor of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, along with a group of distinguished scientists and experts from various Egyptian and foreign universities.

The organization of the conference aligns with the vision of Benha National University to enhance the role of scientific research and improve the quality of education. The conference reviewed the latest developments in medical education, artificial intelligence, scientific research, and student innovation.

During the opening session of the conference, Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized in his speech that the university aims to be a distinguished scientific center that supports innovation and encourages students to actively participate in scientific forums, noting that the College of Medicine represents one of the fundamental pillars to achieve this vision through organizing scientific events at this level.

Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, also delivered a speech confirming the university's support for academic development and scientific research. He highlighted that holding the first scientific conference for the College of Medicine reflects the efforts made to enhance students' skills and connect them with scientific advancements, focusing on the human and ethical dimensions in practicing the profession, and pointed out that the university provides all necessary resources to support the educational and training process.

Prof. Ashraf El Mashad, Dean of the College of Medicine and Conference Chair, welcomed the attendees, affirming that organizing this scientific conference represents an important step in establishing the College of Medicine on strong academic foundations. He also reflected the college's belief in the importance of developing students' capabilities and enhancing their scientific awareness, noting that the conference saw effective participation from both professors and students.

The conference included several scientific sessions discussing various topics, including the ethical responsibilities of students, the future of artificial intelligence in medicine, malpractice in obstetrics and gynecology, and ways to improve the quality of medical education. A full session was dedicated to presenting student research, which varied from the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosing diseases, the role of music in treating epilepsy, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the immune system.

The conference concluded with a closing session in which the organizers thanked the attendees, Prof. Sherin Imam, Conference Rapporteur, and Prof. Omar Khaled, Conference Coordinator, and affirmed their commitment to continuing similar events to support scientific research and empower students and researchers.
