Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, announced the launch of the "Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)" project, one of the most important strategic projects for digital transformation at the university. This project is being implemented in collaboration with Wadi Al-Nile, a leading company in executing major national projects, and in partnership with Microsoft, the main provider of the latest technologies and digital solutions, and one of its partners with extensive experience in the fields of digital transformation.
This ambitious project comes within the framework of Benha National University's vision to enhance its digital infrastructure. The project includes the implementation of the ERP system, which is considered one of the fundamental pillars for achieving digital integration within the university. It contributes to unifying and linking various administrative, educational, and operational processes in a unified and secure electronic environment, in line with the latest global standards, and helps improve academic and administrative performance, raising the efficiency and quality of services provided to students, faculty members, and staff.
The launch ceremony was attended by several university leaders, headed by:
- Tamer Samir, the university president,
- Shady Y. El-Mashad, the university president's advisor for digital transformation and smart governance, and project manager,
- Samia Abdel Hamid, the university's secretary general,
- Ayman Bayoumi, the assistant secretary general,
- Nermeen Abu Al-Khair, the director of operations,
- several administrators from various university departments.
from Wadi Al-Nile was Engineer Mohamed Masad Shashtawy, head of the Information Technology and Systems Projects sector, Engineer Yasser Abdel Fattah, general manager of systems and digital transformation projects, and Engineer Amr Al-Masri, education sector manager at Microsoft - North Africa.
Prof. Tamer Samir expressed his happiness at the project's launch, emphasizing that this collaboration with strategic partners like Wadi Al-Nile and Microsoft represents a qualitative step towards transforming the university into a pioneering model in smart education among national universities. He explained that one of the main goals of the project is to apply the latest Microsoft solutions to develop education and management systems, create a smart digital environment that supports decision-making and keeps pace with future growth, as well as provide secure integrated solutions to protect the university's data and ensure user privacy, in addition to providing training and ongoing technical support to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of using modern systems.
Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad confirmed that the project represents the cornerstone of the university's digital transformation strategy, explaining that the plan aims to provide a comprehensive digital educational experience that keeps pace with technological developments, allowing the university to offer high-quality education in a smart and secure environment.
In his speech, Engineer Mohamed Masad Shashtawy noted that the project is part of a series of digital projects that the company is implementing to support state institutions in achieving digital transformation goals. He confirmed that Wadi Al-Nile has set an ambitious timeline for implementing the project in accelerated phases, ensuring tangible results as soon as possible. He added that the technical team is working on system integration and applying the best global practices that meet the needs of Benha National University, contributing to creating a modern and effective educational and administrative environment.
Engineer Yasser Abdel Fattah, general manager of systems and digital transformation projects at Wadi Al-Nile, confirmed that the partnership with Benha National University represents a successful model for integration between educational institutions and national technology companies, indicating that the project aims to build an integrated resource management system that enables the university to monitor and improve its operations accurately and effectively. He explained that the company relies on the latest globally approved methods and methodologies to ensure the project's efficient implementation and achieve maximum benefit at various levels.
Engineer Amr Al-Masri, education sector manager at Microsoft - North Africa, pointed out that the collaboration with Benha National University comes within Microsoft's strategy to support digital education in Egypt and the region by providing advanced smart solutions that support the transition to smart universities. He confirmed that the project includes the application of a set of tools and technical solutions that enable the university to enhance the quality of education, facilitate access to information for decision-makers, and improve interaction between students and faculty members through advanced and secure platforms, with a focus on the sustainability of digital solutions and supporting the development of human capabilities within the university.
