Benha National University Concluded Summer School with Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine

Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, the university successfully concluded the international summer school program in collaboration with Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM). The event, held from July 14–29, 2025, spanned 15 days of academic interaction and cultural exchange between Egyptian and Chinese participants.

A delegation of students and College from Nanjing University engaged in academic activities, scientific workshops, and field visits to Egypt’s historical landmarks. The program also included immersive cultural experiences and interactions with the Egyptian people.

Program Highlights:

  • Specialized lectures on Traditional Chinese Medicineand modern medical practices.
  • Applied workshops and educational visits to Benha University Hospitaland the Medical Skills and Simulation Center.
  • Expanded meetings between the delegation and university leadership to foster future academic collaboration.

Prof. Tamer Samir expressed pride in the event’s success, highlighting its role in advancing the university’s internationalization strategy. He praised the organizing teams and listened to the Chinese delegation’s feedback, which emphasized their admiration for Egyptian culture and hospitality.

Prof. Karim El-Dash, Vice President for International Relations, described the program as a model for scientific and cultural exchange. He noted the Chinese delegation’s eagerness to expand joint academic programs and repeat the experience in the future.

Chinese Students’ Impressions: "An Unforgettable Experience"

Students from Nanjing University shared their awe of Egypt’s ancient civilization, including visits to:

  • The Pyramids of Gizaand the Sphinx
  • The Grand Egyptian Museumand Civilizations Museum
  • Religious Complex(Hanging Church, Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque)
  • Alexandria’s landmarks(Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Qaitbay Citadel)

They also praised Egypt’s diverse cuisine, warm hospitality, and the seamless blend of history and modernity. Many documented their journey on social media and expressed plans to revisit Egypt with their families.

Activities & Visits During the Program:

    • Meetings with College at Benha University Hospital.

    • Nile cruises, visits to Khan El Khalili, and shopping centers.
    • Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.

    • Visit to the Chinese Embassy in Cairo.
  4. Student Activities:
    • Joint events with Benha University students.
    • Closing ceremony with certificates and commemorative photos.
