Benha National University participated effectively in the activities of the "Smart Healthcare Hackathon 2026," organized by Benha University in collaboration with the Information Technology Institute affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, under the slogan "Innovating the Future of Healthcare." The event was attended by a selection of academic and executive leaders.
The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Soheir Sharawy, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad, Advisor to the President of the University for Digital Transformation and Smart Governance and Dean of college of Computer Science, and Prof. Ayman Samir, Dean the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Benha National University achieved a commendable accomplishment by having two teams from the College of Computer Science win first place in two main tracks. The first team secured first place in the "Artificial Intelligence in Diagnosis" track, while the second team won first place in the "Analysis and Presentation of Medical Data" track, outperforming a large number of participating teams from Egyptian universities in a competition that showcased a distinguished level of scientific and technological expertise.
Prof. Soheir Sharawy emphasized that the participation of Benha National University students in this event reflects the university's strategic vision to support innovation and link the educational process with community needs. She praised the students' performance and their excellence in providing innovative technological solutions, affirming the continued support of the Board of Trustees for all initiatives that enhance creativity and entrepreneurship.
On his part, Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, expressed his pride in the achievements of the students from the College of Computer Science, confirming that the university is keen to provide a stimulating educational environment for creativity and scientific research, preparing students to compete strongly in various scientific and technological arenas.
Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby noted that the Hackathon represents a true platform for discovering talents and honing students' skills, explaining that integrating academic knowledge with practical application contributes to preparing graduates capable of providing innovative solutions to contemporary health challenges.
Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad, dean of the College of Computer Science, confirmed that the team from the College that won first place in the "Analysis and Presentation of Medical Data" track included:

who presented an applied model based on artificial intelligence techniques to support medical diagnosis processes with high efficiency, confirming that this achievement reflects the advanced scientific level of the College's students and their ability to compete strongly in specialized technical arenas.
