Under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the University held a workshop on completing reports for monitoring the implementation of its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan. The workshop was attended by Prof. Fatma Abdel Wahab, Supervisor of the University’s Strategic Planning Office, together with a number of Programme Directors, faculty members, teaching assistants, and representatives of the University’s administrative staff.
The workshop forms part of Benha National University’s commitment to embedding a strong culture of strategic planning, strengthening institutional performance, and supporting systematic monitoring and continuous evaluation of progress in implementing the objectives of the University’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan.
The workshop covered a range of key themes, including the importance of regular monitoring and the role of implementing units in translating the University’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives into action. It also featured a working paper highlighting the importance of implementing the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, together with an overview of the approach to monitoring its implementation, including the stages and mechanisms used to measure progress and achievement.
Participants were also introduced to the 2025–2026 Academic Year Periodic Report, including its purpose and main components. A detailed explanation was provided on how to complete the reporting template and systematically record implementation data and achievement rates with accuracy and consistency.
The workshop further included a practical exercise using the reporting template, covering objectives, activities, performance indicators, targets, and achievement rates. Participants also reviewed the evidence and supporting documentation required to substantiate reported progress, helping to ensure that monitoring and evaluation are conducted accurately and objectively.
The discussions also addressed key questions, observations, and challenges encountered by the units responsible for implementation and monitoring, with a focus on the mechanisms available to address them. Participants were additionally briefed on the procedures for submitting the reports and the timetable established for their review and follow-up.
The workshop concluded with a presentation of the key recommendations, followed by a discussion session on mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of Benha National University’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and opportunities to further strengthen monitoring and evaluation processes in support of the Plan’s objectives and the continuous improvement of institutional performance.
