The Benha National University Council, chaired by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, convened to review a range of academic and administrative matters, including the feasibility study for establishing a Faculty of Languages and Translation and a number of new university initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University; Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; programme directors and members of the University Council; and Mr. Ayman Bayoumi, Secretary General of the University.
Prof. Tamer Samir congratulated the University community on the beginning of the new academic year, wishing students and staff continued success and excellence, and a year marked by dedicated work and meaningful progress towards a better future.
The Council approved the organisational regulations and the medical, allied medical, administrative and technical staffing structures for the Outpatient Clinics Complex in Al-Fayrouz District, New Obour City. It also approved the feasibility study for establishing the Faculty of Languages and Translation. The establishment of the Faculty had previously received the approval of the University’s Board of Trustees, allowing the University to proceed with the necessary procedures.
Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby presented an update on the admission of new students for the 2026/2027 academic year, alongside the proposed establishment of the University’s Central Academic Advising Unit and its internal regulations.
The Council also reviewed a number of initiatives presented by Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, including plans to establish a technology incubator and business accelerator at Benha National University, Benha National University Company for Innovative Solutions and Technology Transfer, and a Translation and Language Services Unit within the Centre for Foreign Languages.
The meeting further included a review of the University’s participation in the “Study in Egypt” higher education promotional mission, which took place in the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 24 to 30 August 2026.
