Benha National University participated in Egypt Forum 2026 in the New Administrative Capital with a delegation of outstanding students. The forum was held under the patronage and in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, under the theme “A View of Today… A Vision for Tomorrow.”
The student delegation attended the session “Entrepreneur Pitches: From Idea to Growth”, which was attended by Dr Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, alongside a number of ministers, officials and entrepreneurs. During the session, Dr Madbouly affirmed that entrepreneurship is a top priority in the government’s economic transformation programme for the next three years, given its important role in supporting young people and enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
Dr Madbouly explained that the government is working to coordinate efforts across the entrepreneurship ecosystem and establish a clear pathway to help start ups grow and expand. These efforts include forming a specialised ministerial group and establishing a unit affiliated with the Cabinet to address entrepreneurs’ needs and help overcome the challenges they face. He also highlighted plans to provide appropriate financing mechanisms and introduce the necessary legislative amendments to facilitate the growth of Egyptian companies and strengthen their ability to expand into regional and international markets, ultimately enabling them to develop into major businesses capable of competing globally.
Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, said that the students’ participation reflects the University’s commitment to developing their innovative capabilities and preparing them to contribute effectively to economic development. He also highlighted the University’s integrated ecosystem for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, which includes the Obour Technology Incubator, the Entrepreneurs Club, the Technology Transfer Office, the Intellectual Property Unit, and the Centre of Excellence in Converging Sciences and Emerging Technologies.
Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, highlighted the importance of students participating in such events to learn from entrepreneurial experiences and explore investment opportunities. He reaffirmed the University’s continued support for innovative ideas, particularly in artificial intelligence and biotechnology, and its commitment to helping transform these ideas into projects and start ups under the supervision of Dr Dina El Naggar, Executive Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Administration.
The participating students expressed their pride in representing the University, noting that the forum gave them the opportunity to learn from successful entrepreneurial experiences and gain insights into emerging approaches to supporting entrepreneurship, helping them further develop their ideas and future projects.
It is also worth noting that a number of the University’s students participated in the forum’s preparatory activities, including a discussion session with the Ministers of Planning and Economic Development, and Investment and Foreign Trade, to discuss sustainable development issues and the investment opportunities available to young people.
