International Day of Biosphere Reserves | 3 November

Biosphere reserves are among the world’s most important initiatives for achieving a balance between nature conservation and sustainable development. They are more than protected areas for wildlife; they are integrated models that bring together biodiversity conservation, scientific research, and the responsible use of natural resources to support local communities.

This international observance highlights that environmental protection is no longer a choice, but a necessity. Safeguarding natural resources and addressing environmental challenges, particularly climate change and biodiversity loss, are essential to ensuring that future generations inherit a healthy and sustainable environment.

In line with its educational and community role, Benha National University reaffirms the importance of raising environmental awareness, encouraging scientific research, and preparing future generations to contribute to the protection of natural resources and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
